Intrigues and Scandals at the Spanish Court

Intrigues and Scandals at the Spanish Court is the history of the Spanish monarchy, of catholic queens, Isabella van Castilië and Ferdinand of Aragón, up till the present-day king Juan Carlos. Stahlecker focuses on the virtues, failings and peculiarities of the blue blood that ruled for years the Spanish Peninsula and the colonies. Besides rulers from the Hapsburg and Bourbon Houses also Napoleon's brother Josef Bonaparte and the Italian princess Amadeo de Aosta wield the sceptre. Twice Spain became a republic. During the Franco-dictatorship no less then five pretenders claimed the Spanish throne.
