FlightGear 2.4.0 released!

The FlightGear development team is proud to announce the release of version 2.4.0 of its free open source flight simulation program. FlightGear 2.4.0 reflects over one and a half years of development and incorporates several new and exciting features, as well as numerous bug fixes.

One of the hallmark features of this new FlightGear version consists of a completely overhauled weather module. While it was previously already possible to load realistic weather by downloading (or creating custom) METAR weather reports, the current FlightGear 2.4.0 version takes weather generation an order of a magnitude further by applying the laws of physics to the reported conditions and by determining how the atmosphere interacts with the terrain. This results not only in customizable weather, but also in all the exciting phenomena that occur at the boundaries between different weather systems. Among the numerous phenomena included in the weather simulation are fog layers that are limited in altitude, cold fronts, thermals, cloud formation in updraft winds along mountain ridges, and many, many more. In FlightGear 2.4.0 checking the weather is no longer a luxury option, it is essential for flight safety.

Premier Aircraft Design releases Fokker 100 Regional Airliner Package

Premier Aircraft Design (or PAD for short) has released the Fokker 100 Regional Airliner Package for FSX and FS2004 (FS9).

The Fokker 100 is a 107 seat, twin jet, regional airliner which first went into airline operation in 1988 and is still in service all over the world. The Fokker 100 was a good design, popular with passengers and airlines, but was not a great commercial success for Fokker due to high production costs and increasing competition in the regional airliner market from the likes of Bombardier and Embraer. Production ceased in 1997 after 283 had been delivered. Full package for FSX/SP2, with custom panel and VC with FMC. 3D passenger cabin, animated airstair and cargo doors, airbrakes and reverse thrust. Kneeboard check and ref lists. Four liveries included. Realistic performance and pleasant hand flying qualities.

A Lockheed L-1011 Tristar in the works

First before i get into the gritty of whats going to happen in this project, there are a few people who need a thank you. obviously Erick Cantu. he provided the original source model since he no longer wanted to finish the project. also Hiroshi Igami for helping (and still continuing to provide tips) to me to help be more proficient in gmax myself as well as remodelling the no1/3 nacelles himself. Also for Andrew McKeown for bringing me on as member here, otherwise this project may have stalled.

You can find the download on my FSX/FS2004 Downloads page.

PROJECT Fokker Jetline planning FSX adventure

PROJECT Fokker Jetline (or PFJ in short) have created the Fokker F28, F70 & F100 freeware for FS2004 (or FS9), but due to restrictions with some of the gauges in the panels it was not possible to get these models to run in FSX.
