2010: The BIG Bad Wolf is on track!
For the ones who do not know the reason that these pages are called the BIG Bad Wolf pages read up!
Yes, on track! As again 2010 was a very succesful year for the BIG Bad Wolf. I have cycled the record number of 30 BIGs this year! And hence I am on track for the goal to reach 164 BIGs in 2011 as I am at 142 BIGs now. Just 22 to be added in 2011. And below you can read, amongst others, how I gathered these 30 BIGs. And note that my wife Patricia also has cycled a record number of BIGs in 2010. She cycled 27 BIGs and at start of 2010 she was even ahead of me with the number of BIGs. We're a good team ;-)
We started 2010 with celebrating the fact that BIG existed for 25 years. And so we gathered with a number of Dutch members on the 18th of March on the Posbank. Click on the following link or on the picture to the right.

Next I cycled with some Italian BIG members who came to the Netherlands the 3 BIGs that are located near Arnhem. It was a beautiful day in a typical Dutch scenery.

Iron BIG: The story.
The BIG meeting of 2010 was very special. We were cycling on the wrong side of the road ;-) But also in the wonderful landscapes of the Lake District and the Peak District. The latter was a surprise for us we did not know it was so beautiful. Well, go on and have a look at the pictures yourself to see if you agree.

Unlike last year, we did not prolongue the BIG meeting to have our summer holiday. But we did go on summer holiday of course. This year we went to gorgeous Croatia where we enjoyed the sun and the deep blue Adriatic sea and some beatiful Croatian BIGs of course.
And on the way back we visited Austria where we cycled and walked the last part of the cabin hike that we started last year but that we had to cut short due to the bad weather. Well, not this year! The circumstances where perfect and we enjoyed the 2 day trip as you will do when you see the pictures.

Then we had a short weekend to Koblenz where the Mosel river flows into the Rhine river. On the way we took along the Petersberg. Because it was there as George Mallory would say ;-) And we cycled along the Mosel river to Burg Elz. Interested? Just follow the link....

Not only Italians visited our beautiful country but also my Hungarian friends from Salgotarjan came to Belgium and the Benelux for an ambitious cycling program with lot's of BIGs. Again I cycled the 3 northern BIGs of The Netherlands but this time in different circumstances. See for yourself.

Last but not least we went for a long weekend to Brittany to collect the 10 BIGs that are located there. On our way we cycled the most beautiful BIG of the 2008 Meeting ;-) and we visted BIG member and friend: François Candau. We were really lucky as the weather was good though it was a lot of driving by car and a lot of cycling. But nice, really nice. Brittany is worth a visit and we should have taken more time to enjoy it.

The amount of text is huge I know and so is the amount of BIGs I cycled in 2010. There seems to be a relation between the two ;-) And though the amount of BIGs will be less in 2011 I cannot guarantee that the amount of text will be less. This as we went for the first time ever on wintersport holiday. But that'll have to wait. Drop us a mail with comments or feedback.
