Canadian artist Chris Bachalo is widely known for his work on the highly acclaimed
mini-series DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING and his lengthly run on SHADE, THE CHANGING MAN.

British artist Mark Buckingham is best known for his collaborations with artist Chris Bachalo
on various series and projects. He's currently the penciler on the new TITANS series. Works

John Cassaday:
American artist John Cassaday is best known for his work on the highly acclaimed
DESPERADOES mini-series and PLANETARY both for DC's Wildstorm imprint. Works of interest include

Duncan Fegredo:
British artist Duncan Fegredo is best known for his collaborations with writer Peter Milligan on
such projects as: ENIGMA, FACE and GIRL. He's also the cover-artist on numerous STAR WARS
comicbooks.
Frank Quitely:
Artist Frank Quitely (not his real name) is another great artist from the United Kingdom. Must
have work includes FLEX MENTALLO, JLA: Earth 2 and his work on AUTHORITY with writer Mark
Millar.
J.G. Jones:
J.G. Jones is probably best known for his amazing work on the two part SHI - BLACK, WHITE & RED
mini-series, the BLACK WIDOW mini-series with writer Devin Grayson and the six-part MARVEL BOY
mini-series with writer Grant Morrison.
Michael Wm. Kaluta:
The art of Michael Kaluta is heavely influenced by the art of Roy Krenkel, Aubrey Beardsley and
Czech art nouveau master, Alphonse Mucha. Great examples of his work can be found in STARSTRUCK,
THE SHADOW and his numerous covers for BOOKS OF MAGIC.
Teddy Kristiansen:
The artistical influences of Danish artist Teddy Kristiansen can be found - among others - in
the paintings of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh and Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. Must have

Jose Ladronn:
Mexican artist Jose Ladronn is a freelance illustrator who's style can best be defined as a
mix between Jack Kirby and French artist Moebius. Recommended work includes his stint on CABLE
and the Amalgam one-shot SPIDER-BOY TEAM-UP.
John Romita jr:
John Romita jr. is the son of the legendary Spider-man artist John Romita sr. He's fast
becoming a legend in his own right, because of his unique style. 'Must see' work includes
PETER PARKER: SPIDER-MAN and THOR.
Alex Ross:
Fully-painted comics are nothing new, but few painters can match the excellence of Alex Ross.
His photo-realistic paintings are a real treat for the eyes. Work highlights include: MARVELS,
KINGDOM COME, UNCLE SAM and his exquisite covers for KURT BUSIEK'S: ASTRO CITY.
Tim Sale:
American artist Tim Sale started his penciling career with THIEVES' WORLD #1 in 1985,
but his first pro work was in WARP GRAPHICS' MYTH ADVENTURES as an inker. Work highlights
include: BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, SUPERMAN: FOR ALL SEASONS and his current work on the new
BATMAN: DARK VICTORY maxi-series.
Peter Snejbjerg:
Together with fellow Danish artist Teddy Kristiansen, Peter Snejbjerg is one of the few
Scandinavian artists to succeed in American Comics. Work that's worth checking out include his
stint on THE BOOKS OF MAGIC and the first three issues of THE DREAMING.
Bernie Wrightson:
Living legend Bernie Wrightson is probably best known for his horror work on HOUSE OF MYSTERY,
HOUSE OF SECRETS and his work on SWAMP THING. Career highlights include A LOOK BACK and BERNIE
WRIGHTSON'S FRANKENSTEIN.
