Born september 8th 1964 in the Netherlands.
Started his vocal study in 1986 according the Old Italian School of Belcanto with Opera singer Dany Zonewa.
In Salzburg (Mozartteum) he studied with Grace Bumbry.
Leo de Waal has a very warm voice with an extraordinarily rich range of harmonics in the high zone.
