Laurens Lapré's Projects
If you are looking for Lparser or Lsystems links try the Lparser page for lot's more information and downloadable source files. You can also see a number of fractal Lsystem images in my Gallery. My implementation of a Lsystem parser also allows mutations to take place during the growing of the form. These mutations can change the form slightly or quite dramatically. This allows you create a whole series of forms all clearly related to each other and descendant from the original Lsystem.
The Designer's Dream is an image which won me a first prize in the AutoDesk Image And Animation Contest 1993 in the category Fine Arts. More images and text on the page.
Emerald City was a series of images awarded with an Honorable Mention in the Prix Ars Electronica 1993 in the category Computer Graphics. An explanation of the project is given and some thoughts on the nature of exploring shapes as an artform.
I really enjoy Polyhedra. Here are some images I've made and models I've constructed using various 3d modelling packages. You will also find  a fractal 3d object as a VRML file here.
I have done some programming for this really nice little computer, the Psion5. Here you will find my Fractal Freeware for it. Biomorphs, hop-a-long's and a small Mandelbrot/Julia set generator.
I've done a lot of fractal exploring in FRACTINT and using my own fractal software. Here are some images and a formula to generate Spikey Mandelbrot  sets.
After returning to C++ progamming after a 6 year absence I ported a series of pattern generators I earlier programmed on the Psion in OPL to C++/GDI+ using Visual Studio 8. Enjoying the easy way complex drawing primitives can now be manipulated. Here are some of the results. All generators share the concept of changing gradients.
I've picked up coding Lsystems again using a VRML viewer and Blender as a rendering package. Come take a look at the new lparser shapes and images.
