Four really nice bands coming from Norway, this compilation brings you songs from Schaliach, GROMS, Antestor and Extol. Schaliach is a Death metalband. These three songs were taken from their full-length cd, called Sonrise. All the instruments are done by Ole Borud, who joined Extol later. The vocals are done by Peter Dalbakk. Ole Borud proves himself being a great musician. The instrumental song Coming of the Dawn is a beautiful instrumental, starting with piano and later comes the guitar. Very nice songs. Later Schaliach came on another sampler, In the Shadow of Death, with a new song. GROMS stands for God Rules Over My Soul. They make Old School Death metal. These three songs were taken from their full-length too, called Ascension. The sound quality isn't that great, but that makes the music more extreme. Sounds nice. It was my first experience with GROMS, I like it. Antestor is a sorrowmetal band. These songs were later released on the album Martyrium. So if you like these songs, you should get Martyrium. What's funny here is that the line-up on Martyrium shows artistnames, but the line-up here shows the real names of the bandmembers. Extol is a black metal band. These songs weren't released on another full-length, so Extol makes this sampler quite special because of that. To tell the truth, I bought this sampler because of Extol. But this music is very different from other Extol songs, less technical. The soundquality isn't bad, but not so great, but that's normal. These songs are nice, but can't compare to later Extol songs.
