What do we have here, Australias newest thrashers Grave Forsaken, releasing their first full length. They bring us mid tempo thrash, with raw vocals, some more grunty than the others. The guitars are melodic but crunchy at the same time, with an occasional solo to make it more interesting. Guitar and vocalwise Grave Forsaken reminds me a lot of Mortification, especially the vocals, with the aussie accent. I know many people won't like the high Mortification influences but I don't mind them that much In the lyrics they are very open, they don't hide their faith in any way and really go for it. There is a certain catchyness in the music that makes it enjoyable to listen to, I think it might be the simplicity lyrical wise that make you sing along, especially death on the cross shows this feature. I would like them to have some faster and heavier riffage in next releases, together with some blasting to create a new level of heavyness. They show potential in the heavy/thrash scene, but could use a bit more diversity and speed to make them stand out more.
