Indwelling are a band I'd regularly heard mentioned as a Death metal band everyone should check out. Well, I did. And
I like it. Coming from Facedown Records, I expected some kind of Metalcore/Death metal. Well, apart from a
Metalcore-ish influence in the guitars, it has little to do with Metalcore, and more with Brutal Death metal. The production
is top notch, making the music extremely powerful. The drumming
is really solid, but not extremely fast, something I kind of expect from the more brutal Death metal bands. The grunts are
decent, really deep. They make a great combination when done together
with the screaming, which is pulled off best on the titletrack. The guitars are pretty good, nice
crushing riffs, here and there they lean to the more technical Death metal. Overall the songs are nice, great crushing brutal
Death metal. The songs are far from memorable, and you might find yourself not hearing the difference between songs, but
they are entertaining. A decent CD, I don't completely understand the hype, but it's a solid Death metal release.
