Living Sacrifice is a band I know for being Metalcore, having their 3 most recent albums. However, before the
Metalcore-era was a different Living Sacrifice. On this demotape from 1990 they bring Thrash metal, heavily
influenced by Slayer. For a first demorelease it's really rather impressive, considering they were teenagers around
this time. Decent riffs, nice guitarsolos. The only thing I don't like (and don't like about any pre-Reborn CD) are
the vocals. DJ is just not the greatest vocalist around. That being said, this is of course not a release you try to
get for the purpose of actually playing it. It's a collector's item. The songs can also be found on other releases
(Heaven of Blasphemy on Nonexistant, Second Death on the Selftitled, Progressive Change on
the Argh!!! sampler by REX Records), but this is the first demotape of one of the most popular bands of the
Christian extreme music scene. Pretty cool to have in the collection.
