A while back I was told about Mind of the Dodecahedron, only now I bought their demo, Defense Mechanism. Which is pretty good, but lacked decent production. It was also a bit short with a little under 15 minutes. The coincidence however was Mel Cross contacting me a few days after I received Defense Mechanism. To make a long story short, this demo wasn't supposed to have been released, it wasn't mastered yet, and they were working on a better release. So after a few emails, he sent me Sinful Ways as a promo, as it hasn't been released yet. This is way better, not only did I get a mastered version of Defense Mechanism, I also got their second demo, Iniquities.
When pushing the play-button, I immediately heard this band sounds like nothing I've heard before. Mixing Industrial with Techno and Metal, you get a very odd yet interesting sound. The grunts are heavily distorted. On Tragedy there are also some clean, undistorted, singing vocals. This with some acoustic guitars make Tragedy the most melodic song, as the other songs really aren't all that melodic, just like Industrial and Techno hardly are melodic. The drums are programmed, but totally fit the music.
If you're looking for original, unique music and are open-minded enough to hear something new, than await this release. Fans of Nova Lex should try this, as Nova Lex aren't really quickly with releasing new stuff. You can try and get their Defense Mechanism demo, but remember it's definitaly not as good as what you get on Sinful Ways.
