Welcome to the Matchless G85CS & Rickman G85 pages.
My name is Frank Kuyl and I am a Bike-lover from a young kid -up.
In the late 70`s I scrambled on Honda`s 125 & 250, Maico 125 and a Kramer 250.
The Kramer was a very nice bike and I really can kick myself in the butt for ever selling that bike.
Later on I switched to streetbike,s and Harley,s but the last 9 years the Matchless motorcycles is what makes my heart beat.
I have a 1949 G80 rigid and a 1966 G85CS to built up.
I purchased this bike from my "dutch"buddy Bob Allen.
We grew into very close friends and my greatest wish is to visit Bob and Diane on Orcas Island, WA.
Bob, Diane, Simone and I know that this will happen soon.
Bob has asked me to take over the G85 web-pages. So I am very honoured to work further on it and put my ideas on the pages.
Last months I E-mailed some owners of Rickman & G85CS`s for more pictures.
My future ideas are :
1. A page of the G85CS pictures and there owners.
2. A page of my #245 G85CS restoration.
3. A page of the Rickman G85.
4. A page of all known G85CS numbers.
5. A page of links and good addresses for advice and parts.
I have different goals for the future but I can not give you any dates, but here they are:
To join vintage scramble-events in Holland
To visit Bob & Diane on Orcas Island, WA.
To manage this web-page and join all other G85 & Rickman owners.
Myself and lots of other hobbyists are addicted to vintage motorcycles as a hobby and that will never end.
Probably I will leave this earth with a tool, helmet, or bike in hand.
My desire is that my 2 young boy,s Casper & Mathijs also have the opportunity in the future to go further with my motorcycles, but we never know in future.
I would like to thank my very good friend Bob Allen who started these pages, in fact he is the specialist but in 1 or 2 years Bob and Diane are going to retire to McCall, Idaho.
