This is the FELTZER (FELZER) Family homepage

The last name “FELTZER” (spelled “FELßER”) first appeared in the church records in Oberneisen, Germany around 1650. The book contains the names of the family members who were born in the 2 adjacent villages nearby: Netzbach and Heringen. In the second half of the 18th century, 3 Felßer cousins migrated from Netzbach and Heringen (only 1 kilometre apart) in Germany to The Hague in the Netherlands, where the “ß” was replaced by “tz”. In Germany, however, the name “Felßer” in the meantime changed to Felzer. In 1849, two of the Dutch Feltzers emigrated to the U.S.A.

At present, the Feltzers (and Felzers) are still living in Germany (one family in Netzbach), in the Netherlands (two families) and the majority in the U.S.A.

I have captured all known Feltzers in a single chart, updated last on 8 May 2009. The chart can be opened in HTML and can be downloaded in Excel. There is also an alphabetical list of all first and last names in HTML available. In the Excel spreadsheet, clicking on a specific name on the name list on sheet 2 leads you to its exact location in the family tree on sheet 1.

This homepage is made to inform all family members about their heritage, but also to complement missing data and to find Feltzers who have been omitted. The German branch could just be added, after an earlier unknown relative found the site. I would like to encourage everyone to assist further by adding names, relations, birth, marriage and death dates and places.

A list of unplaced people shows the first names of Feltzers found on the Internet who are not placed in the chart because their relation to the family is unknown. If you happen to know of anyone on this list who should be in the chart because they are related, please contact me using my e-mail: ruud@feltzer.com

Naturally, I appreciate any other corrections or suggestions you may have to improve this site or the charts. Thank you very much!
