GOLDEN EARRING HISTORY DAY BY DAY

Around this time of the year the band started with touring again after a vacation break. An increase in activities can be seen.

During the broadcast of the "Doodnormaal" tv program some youngsters threw a brick from an A4 motorway overpass. The stone hit the front window of the car of Golden Earring fan Louise Donk. Soon afterwards she died in hospital due to her injuries. We sadly miss her. Gone, but not forgotten! Let's remember her in our thoughts.

1979 During the concert at Zevenhuizen (Groningen) a serious accident happened. George got injured in the right side of his neck due to the preliminary explosion of a magnesium flash bomb which was attached to his guitar neck. George was taken to the Groningen Academic hospital by ambulance and treated while the concert was cancelled. The injury was severe and almost cut George his neck artery which would have been fatal. A scar in George's neck reminds of this incident.
