My name is Calla Payne.  I was born and raised in the Midwest United States. I earned my Associate’s and Bachelor’s of Science degrees in Nursing, and began working as a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 2005. There I spent one year working on a general surgical ward and two years working on the obstetrics ward, where I discovered my passion for working with families and babies. In 2008, I moved to the Netherlands with my Dutch partner.

Since coming to the Netherlands I’ve been learning to speak Dutch, and spent almost one year working at an international daycare. I am currently living in Sassenheim and have graduated as a Certified Birth Doula through Childbirth International. I have also attended classes in Leiden through comfortablebirth.com & serenebirth.com.

Being an expatriate in a foreign country is a wonderful experience that can stretch a person to their limits on a daily basis. Add pregnancy and the thought of delivering a baby to the normal expat existence, and things can seem downright overwhelming! I'd be honored and privileged to help support you through the process of becoming a parent in Holland.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Call a doula!
