Art
Door de publiciteit in de media op het gebied van biotechnologie en DNA onderzoek raakte ik
geïnteresseerd in genetische manipulatie, klonen en genen in het algemeen. Graag laat ik me
inspireren door deze ontwikkelingen. Door het vervormen en de fantasie ontstaan mijn schilderijen
en beelden van de werkelijkheid.
Een tweede belangrijke drijfveer is de relatie tussen de mens en zijn natuurlijke omgeving .
Ik interesseer me met name in de grens tussen werkelijkheid en fictie ,die steeds vager wordt.
It is because of publicity generated by the media that I became interested in genetic manipulation,
cloning and genes in general. I like to be inspired by these developments. It is by transformation
and fantasy that my paintings and sculptures are created. A second important motive is the relation
between man and his natural environment. The distinction between fiction and reality, which becomes
more and more blurred, is of special interest to me.
Je me suis intéressé à la manipulation génétique, au clonage, et aux gènes en general à cause de la
médiatisation de ce sujet. C’est par la transformation et l’imagination que mes peintures et mes sculptures
sont-créées. Un deuxième motif principal de ma inspiration est la relation entre l’homme et son environnement
naturel. La distinction entre réalité et fiction se fait de plus en plus floue et ça m’intéresse en particulier.
Cor Fafiani creates mysterious, multi-sensorial, perfect and almost metaphysical works of art. He plays with
different materials and colours, and yet his art is never a pure aestheticism, but rather a code through which
he can communicate his own ideas. He is, in fact, both an artist and a philosopher, and as such, he guesses the
most inner selves of human beings, he reaches our onthological essence.
Nevertheless what is more disquieting for the observer of his works is the absolute lack of answers or points
of reference, so that what is left is the doubt, the unsolved problem of the existence. That void can be filled
only by Art, and that's the only certainty Cor Fafiani seems to voice in his works.

Cor Fafiani maakt mysterieuze, multi-zintuiglijke, perfecte en bijna metaphysische kunstwerken. Hij speelt met
verschillende materialen en kleuren, en toch is zijn kunst nooit puur esthetisch, maar een code waardoor hij zijn
eigen ideeën kan communiceren. Hij is in feite tegelijkertijd een kunstenaar en een filosoof, en gist naar het
meest binnenste van het menselijke wezen, hij reikt uit naar onze ontologische kern.
Desondanks is het meest verontrustende voor de toekijker van zijn werken het absolute gebrek aan antwoorden of
referentiepunten, en is het enige wat over blijft de twijfel, het onopgeloste probleem van het bestaan. Dat gat
kan alleen gevuld worden door kunst, en dat is de enige zekerheid die Cor Fafiani uitspreekt in zijn werk.

Cor Fafiani è un'artista eclettica. La figura è ben definita, nelle sue opere si legge sempre un senso di mistero,
opere pensate e poi eseguite, contrariamente a molti artisti che si fanno guidare forse troppo dall'istinto. Ottama
manualità unita ad una intelligenza artistica che sorprende, nulla è lì per caso, un puzzle che si compone e componendosi
rende noto ciò che il fruitore aveva immagenito essere. Spirito libero riesce a trasmettere il suo "io" nelle sue opere.
Una unica parola per definirla "riconoscibile" e sappiamo quanto sia importante, ma nello stesso tempo difficile, oggi,
in arte contemperanea esserlo.

Padrone di molte tecniche riesce a costruire le sue opere in modo raffinato. I soggetti sono svariati in quanto egli mette
l'uomo al centro della sua attenzione.
Interessato alla manipolazione genetica riesce a trasferire nei suoi lavori il suo stato d'animo.
Sapiente l'uso dei mezzi grafici e cromatici che danno completezza ed eleganza allo stile con cui rende i soggetti, facendo
percepire i valori che interpreta.
Riesce a raccontare nelle sue opere suggestioni di rara lirica intensità.
