High School Graduated from the American School of Kuwait (ASK) on June 6th, 1978
Ph.D University of Vienna, July 4th, 1988 in Astronomy and Physics.

1982 - 1985 Reduction and analysis of IUE spectra.
1985-1987 Development of an automatic statistical package for spectral line identification.
1986 - 1988 Ph.D. thesis: A chemical analysis of the HgMn stars HR 205 and HR 2844

Professional Background

1988 - 1989 Scientific research and system management at the Institute for Astronomy in Vienna, Austria
1989 - 1990 Investigation and definition of a European Space Information System ( ESIS) in a team of 4 at the Centre de Données astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS), France.
1990 - 1991 System and network management support at CDS.
Mar. 1991 - July 1991 Employed by the European Space Agency. Worked at the European Space Research Institute (ESRIN), Frascati, Italy in support of the ESIS project. He was acting Project Scientist during the 4-month period.
1991 - 1992 Relocated to the CDS in Strasbourg as the liaison between ESRIN and CDS on all matters dealing with the SIMBAD database.
1992 - 1994 Relocated back to ESRIN to implement, supervise and operate ESIS. Architectural design and implementation of the ESIS Catalogue Browser, the Bibliographic application and the Spectral package.
1995 Technical Officer of the transfer of ESIS to scientific institutions. This lead to the establishment of the ViZier Catalogue Service run by the CDS.
