After a long time of thinking about building my own electric guitar, I finally decided to start building one. As I started to do some research on the subject, I found a lot of helpful information on sites of fellow guitarbuilders. So i decided that, along with building my guitar, I would start my own site and keep the world informed about my progress.
On this site I will try to give you some insight in all the things that you'll have to think about and do when building a guitar from scratch.
I started with the design and research stage, and I noticed that there are a lot of choices to be made before you cut your first piece of wood. It is always important to think before you act and that's also true with building a guitar. You will have to think through the design of your guitar before you start building. In the "Design" section I will discuss all the design-issues that I faced, as well as give you information about how the different design choices will effect the buildproces.
After designing the guitar, I started building it. In the build section you can follow my progress.
I hope you will enjoy it!

Big bummer !
Well last year was not such a good guitar-building year. I had other projects going on, so no time for building my guitar. During the winter I can't really work on my guitar, as I build my guitar in my garage which is unheated. So, in the winter-months I take all my "good" wood and finished pieces and store them in the house. Unfortunatelly I did something rather stupid. I stored the (nearly) finished neck and body on a cabinet in the living-room. We have a fireplace in the living-room which we use a lot in the winter. The result of all this that the neck was stored in a place which was to hot and to dry and it twisted. :-(
So now I got to redo the hole neck which is a Big Bummer.....
